Europe 2009: Much Needed Update
Jun. 7th, 2009 07:25 amSo, I’ve not quite been keeping up on the journal front, have I?
I’m a bit disappointed in this, because I’d really hoped I’d be able to keep up a journal with the memories in all their brilliant colour, to bring them back to life whenever I reread. I know how awful my memory is, and if I don’t write it down soon enough, it just goes straight out of my head and I get left thinking, now… what was that really funny thing that happened in… that place… which was… somewhere? And this is far too fantastic a holiday to allow that to happen!
I need to stop trying to both keep people up to date AND keep the memories on livejournal, because I simply can’t keep up with writing things down, typing them up, sorting out pictures, formatting it up, and posting, all while trying to recover from the cold that I don’t think I’ve managed to kick the whole trip—and don’t even get me started on this damn holiday, which is taking up all my time!
For the moment, I’m going to relegate the job of memory-keeper to my paper journal, which is doing a better job of keeping up to date, and just give out the (inevitably verbose) highlights on lj. I’ll type the lot up and apply photos eventually, because if it’s not digital I won’t read it and if it’s not in livejournal I won’t remember where I have it. Photos will still be going up onto Flickr, because that’s my backup photo store, and if they’re not on Flickr then one bag-snatcher could make me a very unhappy flower indeed.
In any case, welcome to the first wrap up post on my adventures overseas.
