The Brisbane Writers Festival is on this week. Okay, so last year I wasn't really too impressed, so I'm prepared to be unimpressed this year, too - but last year I only went to free events, so maybe there's a correlation there...
In any case, I've been lurking on the mailing list and entered the draws for any sessions I thought looked interesting, and I thus have double passes to the following events:
Saturday September 15
The Worlds of Dune and Beyond
7.00 - 8.00pm, Powerhouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse
Kevin J. Anderson.
Making a Killing - The Many Styles of Crime
8.15pm - 9.15pm, Powerhouse Theatre
Michael Collins, Helen Fitzgerald, Jane Goodall, Robert Gott, and Dorothy Porter. Chair: Graeme Blundell.
Sunday September 16
Future Perfect
2.00 - 3.00pm, The Edge, State Library of Queensland
Robyn Williams.
Curious Obsessions in the History of Science and Spirituality
4.40pm - 5.40pm, State Library Queensland Terrace
Rachael Kohn. Chair: Brian Gill.
Since I've only got one of me interested in writing... anyone else want a free ticket to any of these?
