A guy I work with forgot his sister's birthday.

This doesn't sound quite as bad as it is until you realise that this was his twin sister, that he hadn't forgotten his own, and that the profound realisation that it was actually her birthday, too, came to him at their joint party.

I just have not the words, except perhaps the ever eloquent... "Well, duh!"

Hey, cut him some slack. Some people are really, honestly, truly that bad with dates. I have to think to remember my birthday. (I'm not kidding here. I can't remember holidays either, besides fourth of july, guy fawkes day (it has a rhyme!), christmas, and april fools.)

On the other hand, I have all significant birthdays in my computer, so a thing will pop up when I Need To Think Of Something To Get Them. So, shame on that guy for not being Organized in the face of a Disability.

No, it's not that he forgot the date - I'm bad with dates, too, and there's no way I'd remember anything at all if my calender didn't pop up to remind me. It's just that he remembered his own birthday but forgot that that meant it was also his twin's.
