Getting the show not tell balance is always hard - in my case how does the angsty miserable character whose POV I'm writing from actually realise that their partner is having a problem if they don't say something (currently I'm cheating and having a third party say it). And with Sherlock I would expect him to be saying things at times, because that's who he is. But you can do it - just get those words down.
